St. Agnes School 2010/2011 Calendar
School Hours
7:40 A.M. to 2:35 P.M.
Pre-K Program (K4): 7:40 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Office Hours
7:15 A.M. to 3:15 P.M.
Lunch Periods
11:15 A.M. to 12:20 P.M.
All students have a 35-minute lunch period including recess.
Grades K5-4: 11:15 to 11:50 A.M.
Grades 5-8: 11:45 to 12:20 P.M.
Morning Recess
Primary and Intermediate: 10:00 to 10:15 A.M.
Liturgical Worship
Students attend Liturgy once a week at 8:15 A.M.
Grades 1 - 4 on Thursdays
Grades 5 - 8 on Tuesdays
The students also attend All School Liturgies when scheduled, pray the Rosary on the first Friday of each month, and participate in seasonal religious observations.
Physical Education
Each class is scheduled for 2 periods a week.
Required wear:
All grades(K-8): Clean tennis shoes are to be kept at school for use on the GYM FLOOR ONLY. TIE OR VELCRO ONLY, NO SLIP-ONS.
Intermediate and Jr. High: A change of clothing, i.e., sweats or shorts and a loose fitting tee shirt.
Non-participation due to injury or illness:
A doctor's excuse for time longer than a week. Parent's note for individual days.
Music
All students K4-8 receive music instruction. Each grade is also scheduled, once a week, for Liturgy Practice.
Library
Each classroom has an assigned library period. The library is also available at any other needed time, with supervision.
Resource Center
Primary, Intermediate and Jr. High students have access to individual instruction and/or enrichment work in the Resource Center.
Computer Lab
All students K5-8 receive weekly Computer Instruction.
Foreign Language
Students in Grades 6-8 receive instruction in Spanish 3 days a week.
Students in Grade 5 receive instruction in Spanish 2 days a week.
Students in Grades K5-4 receive Spanish instruction 1 day a week.
Communications
Each week, the Principal publishes a Friday Newsletter with items of news and upcoming events for parents of the school children.
Individual teachers communicate periodically with the parents of their students.
Report Cards
Reports on Student Progress are issued quarterly. Grading Systems are according to guidelines from the Department of Education - Milwaukee Archdiocese.
Intermediate and Jr. High Students will also receive Progress Reports.
Parent - Teacher - Student Conferences
Conferences are held at the end of the First and Second Quarters. According to need, individual conferences may be held at any time.
