Before and after
school care is available for the children of Saint Agnes parishioners. Children
from both public and private schools are welcome. The hours should be verified.
On non-school days, excluding legal holidays, T.C.U. is open all day and is
located in rooms 123 and 125. Other areas are utilized as needed, including the
playground, gym and PAC. Enrollment is required.
Philosophy
The before and after school program will strive to be a worthwhile part of
the child's day. The environment and program will stimulate the child to grow
in self-esteem, self-expression, and Christian values, and reinforce school
learning.
Hours of Operation - School Days
Morning: Open at 6:45 a.m. (Note: Children arriving at school prior to 7:30
a.m. will be required to use the program at the parents' expense.)
Afternoon: Children will come to TCU from their classroom. Closing time is
6:00 p.m.
Hours of Operation - Non-school Days
If enrollment supports TCU being open on conference days, hours will be 6:45
a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Parents will be given notice if low enrollment dictates that
TCU will be closed. TCU will be closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas break,
Easter break and all legal holidays. If your child is scheduled to attend TCU
for a non-school day (i.e. inservice days, conference days, etc.) and does not
show up, the parents will be billed $15.00 for that day.
Inclement Weather
The program will follow the school's direction in regard to snow and cold
days. If school is cancelled, so is the TCU program.
Snacks
An afternoon snack and beverage will be provided. Parents are encouraged to
send snacks to share (crackers, raisins, peanut butter, etc.) or paper products
(cups, napkins, etc.)
Morning Program: Children may wish to bring a cold breakfast, such as a
breakfast bar or sandwich. On non-school days, children must bring a bag lunch
and a beverage. A morning snack will be served in addition to the usual
afternoon snack.
Illness
Good judgment on the part of the parent is expected as to when to keep a
sick child home. In general, a fever of 100 degrees, diarrhea, and/or vomiting
are reasons not to send a child to school. If a child becomes ill while at TCU,
the parent will be called to come for the child. In case of a communicable
disease, the parent must notify the director, who will post a notice on the
door to the TCU.
Forms kept on file in the TCU facility require the signature of an
authorized parent/guardian before any staff member of the daycare can disburse
medication.
Injury
The parent must provide the name of a doctor or medical facility, which will
be utilized in case of injury. In case of life threatening injury, the Rescue
Squad will be called and will transport the child to the nearest appropriate
facility. In case of serious, but not life threatening injury, the parent will
be called and must accompany the child in the Rescue Squad. In case of minor
injuries, the child will be taken care of, and the parent will be notified in a
reasonable fashion.
Sign In/Sign Out
State Law demands that all children must be signed in and out by a parent,
guardian or designated other. The enrollment form provides for the parent to
indicate who may pick up the child. Children will not be released to an
unauthorized person. Older siblings may sign in and out a younger sibling, with
written parental permission and at the discretion of the director. If an
authorized person in unknown to the TCU staff, he/she may be asked to show
evidence of identification. This is for the assured safety of the
child/children.
Morning: The parent or other authorized person must bring the child into TCU
and sign in. The staff will send the child to their appropriate classroom at
7:40 A.M.
Afternoon: Children will come to TCU from their classrooms. The parent will
come into TCU and sign out the child when picking up . NO CHILD will be allowed
to leave the building without being signed out by a parent or authorized
person. This will be strictly enforced.
Schedule
A blank calendar will be sent home each month. A parent will fill out the
hours their child will use TCU and send it back. If calendars are not received
by the 1st of each month a $5.00 fee will be charged onto your account. Changes
can be made with as much notice as possible, but not less then 24 hours. The
parent will be charged for scheduled days, unless 24 hours notice is given. The
exception will be illness of the child, when a call to TCU is made as early as
possible.
***Please note that due to operational costs, once a child is enrolled for
specific days and hours, the center must hold the parents financially
responsible for those days and hours, whether or not their child is in
attendance.
Scheduled After-school Activities
A TCU staff member will escort the child to any scheduled activities on the
school grounds, such as scouts, athletic practices, etc. The activity leader is
expected to escort the child back to TCU.
Drop in Service
Parents may use TCU on an occasional basis, but the child must be enrolled
in TCU prior to the first day of attendance. Notice of intent to use TCU must
be given at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise a drop-in fee can be expected.
Discipline
All children are expected to follow the same basic rules that apply in the
classroom. Respect for them, other children, the staff and the facility are
demanded at all times. Children, who are continually disruptive, will be
considered on probation and parents will be notified. Children may be dropped
from the program at the discretion of the director if they present serious
discipline problems.
Payment Plan
Billing for the use of TCU is done on a daily basis. Parents will be sent
notices on a weekly basis indicating the charges for their child's care.
Nonpayment may result in the termination of services for your child.
Fee Schedule
Registration fee: $25.00 per family annually (due at time of registration)
Late fee: $1.00 per minute will be charged after 6:00 P.M.
